Women's Meetings

Presbyterian Women share a common purpose.

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

• to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study;
• to support the mission of the church worldwide;
• to work for justice and peace; and
• to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Presbyterian Women (PW) is a church wide organization whose membership is open to all women.  The members are women who choose to participate in or be supportive of the organization in any way.  PW intentionally seeks the membership of women from all racial-ethnic groups so that the organization may reflect a vision of the whole church as a community of mutual interdependence in which diversity contributes to wholeness. 

PW gives strong support to the mission of the PC(USA) and determines its own leadership, program, and budget.

Presbyterian Women is organized at all levels of the PC(USA) in congregations, presbyteries, and synods as well as General Assembly.  The connectional system allows ideas and information to continually flow back and forth to strength the work of Presbyterian Women and the Ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). 

The Presbyterian Women at Union have a strong presence.  The Women's Council oversees the total women's program.  Union has four (4) Circles of women's groups under the Council:

• Betty Kendrick Circle
• Home Circle
• Extended Family Circle 

The women leaders who make up the Council serve as:

• Moderator
• Co-Moderator
• Secretary/Treasurer
• Historian
• Creative Ministries Facilitator
• Mission Facilitator
• Search Facilitator
• Issues Committee
• Bereavement Chairperson
• Kitchen Committee
• Nursery Committee
• Flowers Committee

The Women at Union are "ALIVE" with the spirit of Jesus Christ and extend a warm welcome and invitation to all women to come and be a part of this exciting ministry.
