Worship Services
Worship is at 10:00 am. Union's worship style is family/traditional. But the service is informal. We invite you to come as you are.
Sunday School
Sunday School is at 9:00 am. We have Sunday school for all ages (nursery to adult).
Other Weekly Programs

Children and Youth Groups meet on Sunday evenings at 4:00 pm.

Adult Bible Study every Tuesday Morning at 10:00 am.

There are various monthly fellowship opportunities as well (like Women's Circles, Men's Fellowship activities, Happy Years lunches, Tuesday Morning Bible Study).

Worship Style
Union Presbyterian Church follows a traditional liturgy in an informal atmosphere: services regularly use hymn books and includes worship elements like a Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession, and Affirmation of Faith. Worship is led by a volunteer adult choir and music is a combination of traditional and contemporary hymns (with an occasional contemporary praise songs thrown in as well)!
About the Building
Union Presbyterian Church began as a mission church from Bethel Presbyterian Church. In the 1840's families in southern Gaston County joined together meeting originally in a brush arbor. In 1843 a log meeting house was constructed and was named Union Meeting house to demonstrate cooperation between Baptists and Presbyterians that met there. Union's first pastor was Rev. Joseph O. Daniels.
The Union Meeting House organized as a Presbyterian church on November 9, 1850.
Union's present brick sanctuary was build in 1907 during the pastorate of Rev. George A. Sparrow who served Union for nearly 29 years.
Most recently, in 2009 a building addition was completed that connected various church buildings, included a rotunda, and elevator.
